Combat the Signs of Aging with BOTOX®

People tend to start developing lines and wrinkles in the upper part of the face when they are in their mid-thirties. These lines, which are commonly referred to as worry lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, make the individual appear older and can also make the person appear tired, or even angry. If you would like to restore the youthful appearance of your face, ask Dr. Trenton C. Jones, M.D. about BOTOX® in Utah County, Utah County, and Salt Lake County, Utah.

What is BOTOX?
BOTOX is a minimally-invasive procedure that stops muscle movement in specific areas to relax the face and decrease the appearance of wrinkles and lines. In addition to being used for lines and wrinkles, Botulinum Toxin, or BOTOX, can be used in several clinical uses like treatment for spastic muscle disorders.

Do the injections hurt?
BOTOX injections are delivered through very fine needles. Because of this, most patients tolerate the injections very well. If you are sensitive to needles, ask our plastic surgeon about a local anesthetic cream that can be applied one hour prior to treatment.

What is the procedure?
BOTOX stops the transmission of the nerve impulse to the muscles. In this way, it keeps the muscles from working for a period of time. Our plastic surgeon is knowledgeable about the anatomy of the muscles of the face and knows which muscles to treat and at what dosage.

How long until I see results?
BOTOX results usually start becoming apparent in three to five days. However, results may take up to a week to start to appear. Fine winkles tend to disappear right away and deeper ones take more time.
